Dr. Afroz Ahmad Shah

Bakeo Energy Services Sdn Bhd is honoured to welcome Dr. Afroz Ahmad Shah as a member of our Advisory Board.

Dr. Shah is a Senior Assistant Professor and Programme Leader in Geosciences at Universiti Brunei Darussalam, with expertise in structural geology, tectonics, and natural hazard assessment across South and Southeast Asia. His work on fault systems and seismic hazard mapping directly supports hydrocarbon exploration and energy resource development.

He employs an integrated approach combining satellite remote sensing, GIS-based spatial modelling, and field structural analysis to assess earthquake and flood risks. His research has been supported by the National Geographic Society and the Deep-time Digital Earth (DDE) program..

Dr. Shah is also a prominent science communicator. He was recently interviewed by Sky News on the earthquake in Myanmar, which was notably detected by Bakeo Energy Services’ seismic monitoring system in Temburong—a significant milestone for real-time hazard monitoring in Brunei.

His appointment strengthens Bakeo Energy’s commitment to geoscientific innovation, seismic hazard resilience, and sustainable development. Dr. Shah’s insight will play a pivotal role in shaping our regional strategies and advancing energy and environmental solutions..

Haji Rahman bin Haji Sirat

Bakeo Energy Services Sdn Bhd is honoured to welcome Yang Mulia Haji Rahman bin Haji Sirat as a distinguished member of our Advisory Board.

With over 41 years of experience in the oil and gas industry, Haji Rahman brings deep operational and strategic expertise from leading institutions such as Brunei LNG, Brunei Shell Refinery, Brunei Shell Marketing, Malaysian LNG Dua and Satu, and Pernis Refinery. His specializations include midstream and downstream operations, LNG plant management, HSSE frameworks, technical authority, and production planning.

He has held senior roles, including refinery manager, senior BLNG operation and procurement manager, supply and distribution manager, and BLNG technical authority level 1. A highlight of his career was leading the success of his career and leading the successful commissioning of Malaysia' LNG Dua, including cryogenic storage and pipeline.

Haji Rahman is also a respected contributor to workforce development, having designed training and academic programs for UTB and BLNG, and continues to serve as a part-time tutor in operations and project management.

Currently, he serves as Secretary General of the Malay Chamber of Commerce and Vice President II of the National Chamber, while also championing national development goals and food security.

In recognition of his contributions, he was awarded the S.M.B., P.S.B., and P.I.K.B. by His Majesty the Sultan of Brunei. He holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Chemical) from the University of Southbank (UK).
